Coca-Cola’s latest limited edition has been co-created using artificial intelligence, hinting at a strange new future for the world of soft drinks.
Boasting pink and blue coloring and a pixelated logo, the “futuristic flavored” Coca-Cola Y3000 used artificial intelligence to determine its flavor and packaging.
It comes alongside an AI-powered experience - Y3000 AI Cam - which gives consumers a quirky glimpse into what the year 3000 could look like.
This comes as part of the Coca-Cola Creations line designed to appeal to younger consumers.

Christopher Doering, senior editor and reporter at Food Dive, explained: “As Coca-Cola looks to draw consumers into its brands for the long haul, bringing AI into the mix is a logical choice. The use of AI for Coca-Cola Y3000, along with intrigue about its flavor, fosters mystery and excitement that generates buzz among consumers who talk about it online and rush out to try the item.
“AI also may increase the likelihood of a product succeeding in the marketplace if there is more accurate insight into developing it, saving CPG companies significant time and money while simultaneously boosting sales.”
Coca-Cola Y3000 comes in zero and full sugar varieties, and is now available in the United States and Canada.
