Calgary-based fintech company Neo Financial has topped this year’s LinkedIn Top Startups list in Canada.
The list - which ranks 15 of Canada’s emerging companies based on employee growth, jobseeker interest, member engagement within the company and its employees; and how well these startups pulled talent from
LinkedIn’s Top Companies list - found Neo Financial to be its coveted number-one spot followed by corporate card company
Float and software development company
Cohere.
Fellow Calgary-based companies on the list include health care company
PurposeMed in eighth place and cleantech organization
Summit Nanotech, which ranked 12th according to LinkedIn.
Speaking of his company’s number-one ranking, Neo Financial’s co-founder
Kris Read said via LinkedIn: “Very proud of our growth, but also our culture of ownership + teamwork that continues to attract Canada's best and most ambitious talent.”
According to LinkedIn, “the list highlights companies that have continued to trailblaze their way through economic challenges and drops in venture capital funding this year.”
To be eligible, companies must be fully independent, privately held, have 50 or more full-time employees, be 5 years old or younger and be headquartered in the country on whose list they appear.Startups who have laid off 20% or more of their workforce based on corporate announcements or public, reliable sources between July 1, 2022 and the list launch, are not eligible.
