Valhalla Private Capital has partnered with Decentralised Energy Canada (DEC) on the company's Third Annual Game Changer Pitch Competition alongside Pathways Alliance and GLOBE Series.
Taking place on 8-9 November at Ottawa's Fairmont Chateau Laurier, the competition will feature companies as they pitch their decentralised energy innovations to industry, investors, and strategic partners with the ambition of securing investments and partners along the way.
It is open to Canadian early-stage and growth-stage companies which are developing products and services for the decentralised energy industry.
For context, DEC defines decentralised energy (DE) as “kinetic and/or potential energy (thermal, radiant, chemical, nuclear, and electrical) that is created/stored close to the point(s) of consumption.
“It encompasses onsite energy generation, energy storage, and energy efficiency measures. DE projects vary in size but are designed to meet a specific local load(s).”
Sectors eligible for entry include bioenergy; cogeneration or combined heat and power; controls, analytics, or automation; district energy; earth energy; electric transportation (planes, trains, boats, and automobiles); energy storage; hydrogen or fuel cells; microgrids, mini-grids, or nanogrids; net zero energy innovations for buildings or communities; renewable natural gas; small modular reactors and olar energy.
The deadline to apply is 18 October, and applications can be submitted via the DEC website.
